Walk & Wine runs walking-and-drinking evenings for women. This page is about the information we hold on the people who buy tickets, apply to host, or ask us to come to their city. It is written in plain language on purpose — if something here is unclear, email us and we will fix the wording.
When you buy a ticket. Your name, email address and phone number, how many tickets you bought and what you paid, and a confirmation that you are over the minimum age for that walk. We also store the exact wording of the text-message notices you were shown and the moment you were shown them — not just a yes/no — so there is a real record of what you agreed to rather than a checkbox.
Your ticket. A ticket code, and if it is scanned at the door, the time you checked in.
Payment. Card details go directly to Stripe on their own checkout page. They never reach our servers and we never see them. We keep Stripe’s reference for the payment so we can match it to your ticket and issue a refund if one is due.
If you join a waitlist or vote for a city. Your name, phone number and which city.
If you apply to host. Your name, email, phone, city, Instagram and TikTok handles, which walk you came to, and the two written answers on the form.
While you browse. If product analytics are switched on for the site, the pages you visit are sent to PostHog, which sets its own identifier in your browser so repeat visits can be counted as one person. It is not tied to your name unless you go on to buy a ticket. If analytics are not switched on, nothing about your browsing leaves your device.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with partner brands.
Only the companies that make the site run, and only for that purpose:
Venues and partner brands are told how many people are coming. They are not given your name, email or phone number.
Buying a ticket means we will text you about that walk — the meet point, any change, and the weather call. That is part of the ticket, not marketing, and it is disclosed on the checkout screen before you pay.
Texts about future walks are separate and optional. That is the tick-box on the same screen, and it starts unticked.
Reply STOP to any message to end texts. Message and data rates apply.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. We keep a record of who has unsubscribed, purely so we do not email you again by accident.
One limit worth being straight about: we cannot delete the record of a payment while we are still required to keep it for tax and accounting. Everything else can go.
Ticket and payment records are kept for as long as the accounting rules require. Contact details for waitlists, city votes and marketing are kept until you ask us to remove them or unsubscribe. Host applications are kept while we are considering them and for a reasonable period after.
Our walks are 21+ and the site is not intended for anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we will remove it.
